The State of Racial Justice
Day 1 will ground us in a shared understanding of the conditions we seek to disrupt and will prepare us all for deeper introspection for the days ahead. This year, we will hear from our keynote, award-winning author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates, who will lead us in a discussion on the intersections of race, power, and identity. This will be followed by a dialogue between movement leaders working cross-racially in a variety of fields, including economic justice, land defense, and immigration.

Award-winning writer and journalist, bestselling author of The Message, The Water Dancer, and Between the World and Me.
Ta-Nehisi Coates, one of the most prolific writers in the world, joins DOCN on the main stage. Coates will lead our exploration of race, power, and identity.
