DOCN: Our Next Chapter Begins
DOCN launched in 2019 as a cross-racial community of donors working to advance racial, economic, gender, and social justice and shift the center of gravity in philanthropy toward opportunity for all people. When we launched, it was during a time marked by an unprecedented global pandemic and at the apex of recent US history's most powerful racial justice moment.
Through it all and more, DOCN continued to grow, exceeding its initial strategic goals. But the work was not done.
In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, DOCN engaged in a robust year-long strategic planning process. This process was designed to clarify DOCN’s role in the racial justice movement, allowing us to more effectively make an impact. That role has now been defined, and we are excited to share it with you.
Together, we will build a strategic race-class giving framework rooted in cross-racial solidarity that transforms philanthropy and builds a values-aligned community of wealthy people of color alongside racial justice movement organizations.
